Before recovery from addiction, life may be a lot like this:

Once in recovery from addiction, life may be a lot like this:

Oh.. and there's one thing you don't want to forget...
...what it was like in between...

Alcoholism -and/or- drug addiction/abuse is essentially a disease. It may not be as simple as a virus, but a disease never the less. It is a disease of society... throughout the world. It is a psychological as well as social disease. It is a disease with a basis in biology and genetics that has existed since the beginnings of society. I don't know if the genetic inclinations were present from the beginning or whether it evolved over time. Society enables and perpetuates it. Its symptoms can --and does-- affect every aspect of society along with the individual.

On the surface, it might appear that an individual is doing something like what Jim Carrey is doing in the movie clip above and in many ways it is. Once someone has become familiar with the solution, it most certainly is. Of course, there are many who have trouble comprehending and using the solution along with some who may never get it. There are also many who definitely do get it and keep it and for most of them, life is such that they would be happy to get on a stage and sing their testimony like the guys in Collective Soul in the music video above.

Life is not always going to be something to sing about... unless you're also good at singing the blues. Even the rich can be the unhappy. The poor could be some of the most happy. Everyone wants to be happy, right? The good news is that anyone can be happy with the solutions offered with the links below.

There are people everywhere that have been successful with these solutions and are there to help other people everywhere to do the same. They can be found in the rooms of AA, NA, CA, etc.
